Experienced Legal Assistant - Portsmouth based

As a result of the continued growth of the team, the firm is now seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join the hardworking but friendly team at our Portsmouth office.

The role would be to act as a legal assistant and secretary to the team.

The candidate will provide administrative support and assistance to the team. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Making appointments and arranging meetings and providing refreshments as and when required
  • Undertaking filing, the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files.
  • Attending clients both in person and on the telephone providing such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the Company’s standards for client care.
  • Making travel arrangements for the team members
  • Assisting with the team’s marketing events and initiatives.
  • Although most audio-typing is outsourced you will be required to accurately prepare some correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing, showing attention to detail.
  • Assisting with correspondence with third parties
  • Accurately inputting data into case management systems
  • Assisting with the preparation of hearing bundles and other court documents
  • Carrying out Companies House searches and preparing Companies House forms
  • Dealing with e filing
  • Assisting with billing and financial matters

The role will be best suited to applicants with excellent organisational and time management abilities, and a genuine ability to support a busy litigation team. Exceptional attention to detail is vital. Applicants will need to be excellent team players, capable of hitting the ground running with minimal supervision.  The successful applicant will be competent with Microsoft Word and Excel and will have proficient IT skills.

Previous experience of civil litigation, debt recovery and/or insolvency is helpful but not essential.

The candidate will also need to hold a full driving licence and have their own transport.

Commercial Property Solicitor/Qualified Legal Conveyancer – Norwich based – Full Time

We are seeking applications from individuals with at least three years PQE with the drive and ambition to take a new role in our busy Commercial Property department. The applicant should be:

  • Used to managing caseloads of commercial property matters including property investment, finance, landlord and tenant, buying and selling business premises and property development;
  • Experienced in immediate or strategic land acquisition for residential and commercial developers including funders, investors as well as end business users; and
  • Confident and comfortable with business development and networking.

Legal Secretary – Norwich based – Full Time

The candidate will provide administrative support and assistance to the team. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Making appointments and arranging meetings and providing refreshments as and when required
• Undertaking filing, the opening, closing, storage, retrieval and destruction of client files.
• Attending clients both in person and on the telephone providing such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the Company’s high standards for client care.
• Making travel arrangements for the team members
• Assisting with the team’s marketing events and initiatives.
• You will be required to accurately prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing, consistently in speeds from 50 to 80 wpm, showing excellent attention to detail.
• Assisting with correspondence with third parties
• Accurately inputting data into case management systems
• Assisting with the preparation of hearing bundles and other court documents
• Carrying out Anti Money Laundering checks including Companies House searches
• Dealing with online ‘portals’ and e filing
• Assisting with billing and financial matters
